FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA—The Los Alamitos-American Heritage matchup was not only a matchup full of future stars, but it was a matchup of two teams from two of the most dominant high school football states in the country.

But American Heritage represented Florida in a 56-27 win over Los Alamitos, and strengthened their case to be one of the best teams, if not the best team in the state of Florida.

The Patriots were led by senior running back and Ohio State commit, Mark Fletcher. The future Buckeye scored two touchdowns early in the game, and ended with game with 224 rushing yards on nine carries.

But the American Heritage defense also did their job in containing Los Alamitos quarterback, Malachi Nelson. After the USC commit connected for his first touchdown to Makai Lemon, who is also committed to USC, American Heritage wide receiver, Brandon Inniss, caught a touchdown from quarterback, Blake Murphy to give the Patriots a 28-14 headed into halftime.

American Heritage dominated on the ground all game. Coming out of halftime, the Patriots extended their lead to 48-14 with two more rushing touchdowns along with a touchdown in the air.

The Patriots scored on the ground one last time in the fourth quarter, but Malachi Nelson connected with Makai Lemon for two scores to put some more points on the board for Los Alamitos.

But in the end, the combination of a dominant run game, and a defense that contained Malachi Nelson led American Heritage to a 56-27 win.
