The Notre Dame Fighting Irish continue to add to their No. 1 ranked recruiting class with the addition of four-star wide receiver, Jaden Greathouse, as he committed to the Irish Friday afternoon. Greathouse joined me for an interview on Instagram Live on November 9, 2021, but I caught up with him following his commitment to Notre Dame to hear his thoughts on his decision.

Greathouse, a six-foot, two-inch, 215-pound wide receiver out of powerhouse Westlake High School in Austin, Texas, is ranked as the No. 17 wide receiver, No. 18 recruit in Texas, and the No. 113 overall player in the Class of 2023 according to 247sports. Greathouse has won three state championships with Westlake thus far.
Jaden Greathouse was considered by many analysts to be a Notre Dame lean for some time; he had six crystal ball predictions to Notre Dame on 247sports. After making official visits this summer to Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and South Carolina, he made it official with Notre Dame about a month after his visit there. “Notre Dame is an amazing place with amazing opportunities,” Greathouse said.
Aside from the opportunities both academically and athletically at Notre Dame, Greathouse was able to connect with the coaches very well, just as many of their recruits have, showing why they currently hold the top recruiting class. “I have a great relationship with the coaching staff,” Greathouse said. “We talk every day.”
Greathouse is Notre Dame’s 20th commit to their 2023 recruiting class. He joins a pair of 4-star wide receivers, Braylon James, who is also from Texas, and Rico Flores out of Folsom High School in Folsom, California.
With how many recruits Notre Dame has landed before the college football season has even started, the Irish don’t appear to be finished. “Notre Dame has done a great job recruiting,” Greathouse said. “We’ll only get more.
Notre Dame looks to be toward the top of multiple five-stars’ recruitments in safety, Caleb Downs, who plays at Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Georgia, and athlete, Samuel M’Pemba, who is from St. Louis, Missouri, but plays at IMG Academy in Florida. They are also pushing for several four-stars in offensive tackle, Monroe Freeling, linebacker, Jaiden Ausberry, and athletes, Jeremiyah Love and Ronan Hanafin.
The Fighting Irish are certainly getting a playmaker in Jaden Greathouse, and a player that is very used to winning championships and playing at a high level. Notre Dame hopes he can bring his championship winning ways to South Bend in 2023.
